I really like the willingness of Julien thus far to move guys around if he feels necessary. Something I don't think he did too well in seasons past. The rotation among defenseman seems to be working for now but I wonder how long he can continue to rotate between Hamilton, Bartkowski, and McQuaid.

As for the demotion of Marchand, I think it is the right move for now. Smith has slide into that 2nd LW slot and created a lot of scoring chances. His pass to Bergeron the other night was impressive. It certainly helps he had previous chemistry with Eriksson in Dallas. He just brings a different element to that line, and it is quite noticeable. Marchand has been taking too many dumb penalties and unnecessary turnovers for my liking. I know he'll get his game in check, but for now he seems to be gelling with that 3rd line. Soderberg looked excellent the other night in Tampa. He had a good training camp/preseason, something he didn't get to do last year. He will help with secondary scoring. This Top 9 is shaping up to be really impressive. They have a little bit of everything throughout the line-up.

And Iginla will get on the board, hes been too good thus far to not get a bounce sooner rather than later. Once that line really clicks they could be one of the best in the league.

He's been the worst of the bunch so far (which isn't really that bad), so it is nice to see some accountability.

Really like the current configuration of the lines. 3 dangerous 2-way lines and the best 4th line in hockey. Looking forward to seeing Soderclops on the PP and hopefully developing some chemistry with Marchand and (continuing) with Kelly, he looked real sharp on Saturday.

Lump that with a more mobile D and stellar goaltending, things look pretty good.

They're a better team this year outside of backup goalie. Hope they can stay healthy.

Likewise. I think McQuaid's been pretty abysmal this year. Constantly taking himself out of the play or out of position in search of the big hit.

Couldn't disagree more with you guys on this one , He NEEDS to be in the line up every night, Losing a Ferrance on the back line really takes away from their snarl, I dont think anyone is looking over their shoulder with Bart-Krug or Dougie back there, nothing against those guys BUT we need the Lone Wolf patrolling the blue line. Lets Go B's

Scratching Quaider means Seids might have to fight more.

I agree they are better, and some players like Kelly and Lucic look better in this full season as opposed to the condensed schedule.

The defense rotation is great. The healthy competition, rolling back Chara's ice time, and giving the younger guys a chance to get better at this level. What I like about Krug and Bartkowski that was missing for so long was their escapability from the for check, their skill to hold the puck and take it up ice without having to make the 25 defensive zone passes that has plagued the team for years. Hamilton has fantastic offensive zone instincts, I would actually rather see him and Krug together on a PP (unless they have already and I missed it).

Iginla is doing everything but score, the way he plays I just have to wonder how great it would have been if the Bruins had him at 32 instead of 36. It also looks like Smith has helped Eriksson get more comfortable, I didn't know he was only 22!

If all are healthy, Bart will be out come playoffs. McQuaid has been an absolute rock for the third pairing for like 5 years now. He seems to have good chemistry with Krug, and his ability to move the puck has drastically improved. Its sorta like having thorty on the 4th line. Obviously Spooner among others have more skill, but would you really rather have him in the lineup than Thornton? No. Yeti looked amazing considering it was his first goal. With that third line, don't be surprised to see him pot 20. St Louis and maybe Chi are the only teams that can rival the B's depth. This is gonna be a real good season

Armstrong was a Mess he had serious concussion problems BEFORE seids kicked the bag out of him, too bad I liked the way he played, BUT notice who was coming to his aid with a fire lit behind him, The Lone Wolf must be in the line-up on a regular basis. Don't get me wrong may be a good idea to give him some days off but not on a rotation. Cheers That was a great Night for Seidenberg.

Agreed. As the lines and pairings develop more chemistry this team will be unstoppable.

The Bolts play in Tampa. Not St. Pete. Just an FYI.

I'm surprised some of the carpet bagging Bruins fans on here didn't point that out.

The difference between Smith and Marchand right now is summed up in one word:

hustle.

Haha thanks, dude. I thought it was this unwritten rule of Tampa Bay sports that nobody actually plays in Tampa and that they're all in St. Pete.

EDIT: This is the kind of elitist bullpoop I expect from most Boston/PIT fans. I can have a beer with a Philly/NYR fan...not with you people though.

Iggy is a perennial slow starter in the goal scoring department, hopefully he picks it up sooner than later.

I'll still enjoy it. My thoughts on the Sabres well documented by Garth, Kevin and their respective mods.
